La Huasteca:  a Dance Workshop for all ages

Un Taller de Sones Huastecas

Mazarte Dance Company creates a union between dance, research and indigenous art to create an awareness of Mexican cultural heritage and educate our communities, while preserving artistic techniques that are in danger of being forgotten and lost.

The “Son Huasteca” is inspired by the colors, textures and rhythms from the Huasteca Poblana, in the northern part of the state of Puebla. The ‘Son Huasteca’ is one of the most beautiful rhythms, characterized by a flamboyant and virtuoso violin part.
