The works "When Did I become Invisible, "Where Did I become Invisible," and "How Did I Become Invisible," from the Invisible Series evoke the doll clothes and paper dolls of childhood. I chose materials such as plastic discards that I’ve woven, burnt and manipulated; the scale is also larger, almost life size. At some time, everyone has felt invisible, blending into the wall.
For "Plaid Building" and "Bluefish", I cut discarded plastic bags, tablecloths and even yellow caution tape and weave them on a giant loom. These weavings are then taken off the loom, cut and transformed into a shape that suggests the environmental conflicts in our city.
"Cape the Good News," is knit from the blue plastic NY TIMES bags, and had 2000 beads.
