Marilyn Anne Walter
The act of people watching is an integral part of my creative process. I investigate the stories and contextual information that reveals a human narrative. I am interested in how we portray ourselves in the contemporary world. This exploratory body of work is a place where I recapture new ideas and connections when responding to my memories and dream imagery. Drawing, collage, painting, and printmaking are my medium sources for my art works. The work takes time, investigating, growing, and evolving from images and fragments. I begin by building layers of colors, lines, textures, and shapes, manipulating these surfaces, shaping the picture space for overlapping materials. Through this range of experiments, I am provided with stories for futher development or study.
