Sheila Ross, a potter, painter and sculptor who was raised in Montreal  and Toronto, Canada has been living in New York since 1995.  She came to  the US to pursue an MFA degree in studio art at NYU and never left.  An  active exhibiting artist who had been working in clay on and off for  many years, Sheila returned to working in the medium in a sustained and  focused way more than 13 years ago. Her training and experience as a  painter are evident in the recognizable imagery ranging from clouds,  cats, plants and everything in between that are rendered, carved and  painted onto the surfaces of her functional pottery and larger scale  ceramic sculpture.
