Artist Bio:
Pedro Villalta is a self taught artist focused on metal fabrication, creating sculpture and lighting. He gained his skills on the job throughout his life and classes at the Art Students League of NY. He has created and exhibited several public sculptures, including The Pod (NYCDOT 2012), Shipwreck (NYCDOT2015) as well as private commissions.
Artist Statement:
I make organically shaped sculptures, lamps and furniture. All of my projects involve metal: scrap, found, recycled, and industrial materials used to create beauty and symbols of life, the life cycle and human endeavor.
