Artist Bio:

Contemporary practice exploring Sumi-e philosophy through modern acrylics. A prolific body of 300+ original works examining the generative void.

Lush is a multiracial artist whose work explores the intricate spaces between known history and lost lineage. His practice is a process of self-discovery, following the intuitive healing traditions of his mother.

Since establishing a dedicated studio in October 2025, Lush has continued expanding a prolific body of work. Current output includes 35+ large-scale works (38 × 50 inches), several oversized works, and 300+ total works produced since late summer of 2024.

Works range from intimate small studies to large-scale statement pieces designed for exhibition and private collections.

By translating this fluid spirit of ink into the permanence of modern acrylics, he creates a bridge to reclaim spiritual focus and make peace with a missing heritage. In his work, the 'void' is a generative space where he honors his inheritance and rediscovers that we are already whole.

Works held in private collections across the United States and internationally. 200+ works acquired by collectors in 2025 alone.

Artist Statement:

Born in St. Lucia, Lush is a multiracial artist whose work explores the intricate spaces between known history and lost lineage. His practice is a process of self-discovery, following the intuitive healing traditions of his mother.

Lush is deeply drawn to Sumi-e as a masterful technique that introduces the concept of non-possession/Zen—a profound aesthetic of emptiness rarely found in Western traditions.

By translating this fluid spirit of ink into the permanence of modern acrylics, he creates a bridge to reclaim spiritual focus and make peace with a missing heritage. In his work, the 'void' is a generative space where he honors his inheritance and rediscovers that we are already whole.
