Artist Bio:
I am a New York City based film street photographer whose work lives at the intersection of raw truth and honest observation. Born and raised in New York to immigrant parents, I carry the city in my bones, its contradictions, its margins, its relentless energy and translate that inheritance into images that refuse to look away. Self taught and unapologetically so, I came to photography not through academia but through curiosity, turning away from a career in the tech industry to honor an artistic sensibility I had quietly carried for years. I photograph people in their natural element, on the streets of New York and in cities around the world, gravitating toward the stories that go untold, the moments that live at the edges of the frame where most eyes don't linger. I am not interested in the beautiful lie; I am interested in the unguarded moment, the image that lodges itself somewhere behind the eyes and refuses to leave. I want my audience moved, perhaps unsettled, not for the sake of sensation, but because the untold stories of the human experience deserve to be seen. Manic Photographs is my street photography brand and creative practice, the home for this body of work, and an open invitation to see the world as it actually is.
Artist Statement:
I photograph people in their natural element, on the streets of New York City and in cities around the world. Working exclusively on film, I move through urban spaces looking for the moments that go unseen, the stories that don't get told, the truths that live at the edges of the frame. Born and raised in New York to immigrant parents, I grew up navigating the space between worlds, and that threshold sensibility shapes everything I shoot. I am self taught, having come to photography after years in the tech industry, and I approach the medium with the urgency of someone making up for lost time. My work is drawn to the raw and the unguarded, not to shock, but to reveal. I want my images to stay with you, to show you something about the human experience you might have walked right past. Manic Photographs is my street photography brand and creative practice, the home for this body of work, and an invitation to see the world without the filter of comfort, one frame at a time.
