Joshua Rosenblatt
Looking closely, observing details then looking again! I keep going back to this simple idea: the more that I observe, the more that I ‘get it’, and the more that I ‘get it’, the more interesting it is.
I work in thematic series because it pushes me to look longer at the same subject. Through these multiple versions of the same subject matter, I end up growing, and revising my view.
I produce work in thematic series, some examples are; hotel rooms (observing a mundane place intensely), a wall (observing a flat space over a period of time), people in public (observing details of relationship as people interact with each other).
