As a painter I have always worked unwittingly opposite to my crisp photographic point of view resulting in reactionary arrays of color and reliance on rudimentary forms. My overall style depicts a harmonious blending of urban and rural influences; elemental materials weathered and decayed outlined with an artificial vibrancy and luminosity.
Construction begins with lines of varying width randomly gouged out of found sheets of plywood in what seem to resemble vein like forms (in later pieces this step was inverted making the circular divots dug out and the heavier lines hand painted). The hollowed space is then refilled with hardened materials which too are eroded and painted. Next the remaining flat surface shapes are painted, masked in identical form and repainted several times over.
