Fei Li has studied with Lon Clark, the Dean of San Francisco Studio School, and the artist’s mentor. Her works have been shown in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions in museums and galleries internationally including New Britain Museum of American Art , Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, and Asian Culture Center in South Korea. She was awarded a funded Artist residency in Dumfries House, Scotland in 2015 and is the 2016 awardee of Queens Arts Fund New Works Grant.
Li’s current series of paintings, collages and installations engage in the exploration of the boundaries between ambiguousness and clarity with a strong field force of visual structure. The process involves the searching for the visual placements and internal forces that are created by intense battles among growing and competing shapes, which is based on the perception of the reality and walking the tightrope between visual dynamic and pandemonium.
