David Bermudez
David Lee was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He began his journey as an artist studying at the High School of Art and Design. While there, he discovered his love for art and architecture, which led him to study at The Cooper Union, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
David Lee currently explores the intersection between architecture, sculpture, and fabrication by creating what he calls "Graffiti Modulars" a series of sculptural reliefs that explore the artistic movement of graffiti writing and architectural ornamentation.
By creating three-dimensional Graffiti Modulars and situating the work within the urban environment, David Lee sparks a conversation around architectural ornamentation, graffiti writing, and their cultural influences on the built environment.
