Sonia O'Mara

Artist Sonia O’Mara was born and raised in California, attended UCLA, moved to New York City to acquire a Master’s degree from NYU in Arts Administration and eventually began studying painting at The National Academy. Soon she segued into painting full-time and has made it her life’s work, along with raising two daughters.

Sonia travels extensively, and while she maintains her studio in Long Island City, she is just as likely to be found out painting in the French countryside as she is on the bustling city streets of Manhattan. Her ability to see and celebrate the beauty and sometimes humor, not just of a serene landscape but also of everyday objects, has made her a sought-after artist whose work graces the walls of many private collectors.
