Robert Sciasci

Explorative and ever-questioning, my work is informed by a diverse inheritance of traditions, including Hermeticism, the Occult sciences, quantum theory, philosophy, natural processes, Alchemy, and science fiction. My interest in the object is as a form for meditative concentration, communication, and transformation. I work to distill metaphysical concepts into soft geometric forms, using sculptures as models for contemplating the complexities of our time. My recent sculptures were born out of an investigation of natural form, sculpted form, and formlessness. I wanted to make a three-dimensional form with an absolute minimum of skeleton, structure or support. I was intrigued by what the materials - canvas, resin - could be and do, what shapes and geometry would be possible.
