Lori Sanford-Ross
I investigate the range of new visual experiences as I synthesize my drawings of structural, natural and living forms, which may or may not converge into single paintings. I stay open to the possibility that although my plein air observations and renderings have meaning, the invention of form and color in the studio can sometimes convey greater truth than what I might have drawn months ago. Reality is always in the current moment, and every painting has its own reality.
