Jonsie Isasmendi

My artwork conveys a personal intimate portrait of my interest in nature and humanity, their strengths, vulnerabilities and complexities. Based upon reflection of my own memories and concerns for our world, my creative process begins by unleashing a powerful instinctive creative force of paint and materials onto the canvas followed by consideration of the more formalized elements of an artwork's design. I progress using a process of construction and deconstruction of layers, shapes, textures and sketched lines. Using symbols as threads, cracks and creases, I attempt to visually connect the viewer with an alternate reality. Art for me should express emotional and aesthetic appeal to the viewers. "The eye sees, the heart feels and the soul vibrates"
