As an early chilhood educator for 35 years ago, I brought my love of art into the classroom. Throughout this time, my art was always evolving. The process of layering textures was somewhat like my early batik paintings, but with the added element of achieving surprisingly unique textural effects.
Living and working in NYC and spending summers in RI, I am inspired by both urban and seaside environments. My paintings are reflections of images I feel or see in nature and dreams. Discovering the energy of a moment, while exploring the interaction between paints and fabrics is a continuous adventure.
My technique is the use of multiple layerings - pigment, fabric, and fibers - has its specific importance - a journey in harmony and balance.
