Vera Angelico

My father took my family to see Brasilia, the capital of my birth country, Brazil when I was six years old. The beauty of the city and its shapely architecture completely mesmerized me, and my fellow Brazilians.

When I entered the chapel designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the stained glass that clads the building was throwing dancing shadows on the floor; inside the space, everyone walked around in a state of awe. I wanted to evoke that kind of emotion in people.

The pursuit of beauty has been an ongoing dedication in my life – a belief and commitment to the betterment and transformation of others via a journey of bringing into existence works that could evoke this sentiment.
