Tony Vaccaro: Orphan to Photographer

After 50 years of exhibitions - 275 shows on four continents - Tony Vaccaro has a show at home...

The Plaxall Gallery, a short walk from the Tony Vaccaro Studio, is proud to present an exhibition of over 100 Tony Vaccaro prints, many just discovered and rarely seen even by Tony's largest collectors - the largest show since Tony's massive war exhibition in Normandy, France, on the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

The show's opening reception on Thursday, July 5, will feature a screening of "UnderFire:The Untold Story of Pfc. Tony Vaccaro", the 2016 HBO documentary created by Max Lewkowicz.

War, post-war, celebrity, and fashion, are all covered. The "Guggenheim Hat", "Poolside", and "Machine gun in Chrysanthemums", are three favorites. Tony has worked closely with his digital editor, Manolo Salas, to get the colors just right.

Our thanks to Tony and Monroe Gallery for making this exhibition possible.
