Tony Buczko

Today we live in a fragmented world of small spaces. Whether it is in the office, our cars, our homes or apartments, we rarely experience wide-open spaces. Even our mental spaces are crowded. In my work, I want to create the feeling of expansiveness that the viewer can experience.

Luminous color is my primary method of achieving an emotional response in the viewer. The color field is the ground on which I create the space. I use multiple tones of color to produce the vibrant quality that enlivens the space.

My intention is to make paintings that are emotionally inviting, giving people a feeling of sanctuary. Hopefully, the harmonious, balanced yet dynamic space can gently shift the consciousness of the viewer towards the ideal of serenity.
