Raul Barquet
My work is an exploration of semiotics and ephemera. With a particular passion for text, language, and communication, I naturally gravitate towards the use of words, letters, symbols and found objects in much of my work. For me, language and art occupy the same space in my mind, so I find it natural to intertwine the two concepts in my practice
Barquet's artwork has been featured on the cover of FONT Arts & Literature Magazine, on NY1 Television, on the murals of the 100 Gates Project, the Centrefuge Public Arts Project, and BKLYN House, and is included in collections across the globe. Additionally, Barquet has conducted workshops with the Staten Island Museum, The Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, and Illuminart Productions.
