Mark Dendy

Created in an atmosphere of play and inquiry, my work investigates non-linear narrative through light, color, and psychological symbolism viewed through a queer lens. I move freely between abstraction and figuration, allowing gesture, theatricality, and movement to shape each composition. Working across painting, collage, drawing, and mixed media, I embrace experimentation as a way of thinking rather than simply a way of making. Each piece develops through intuition, revision, and chance until an emotional logic emerges. My goal is not to illustrate a story, but to create a space where memory, imagination, and lived experience intersect—where the viewer participates in completing the work.

I am always searching for the instant when my work stops being apainting and becomes an experience.
