Honglip Gang
I am an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. My inner world of myself was full of art, and New York was a city where it could unfold. Speaking of NYC, MTA Subway explores all-around underground and above ground and it gives New Yorkers mixed memories of love and hate. I like to see the different expressions of the passengers on the train. Most stationary figures in a moving space, ironically, have some vividness in different poses. The training series tells the story of the portraits of the characters and their relationship to life through different aspects of the passengers. I portray the fixed figures expressed in the space of a moving train as a psychological indicator projected inside me, sometimes with compassionate eyes, and sometimes cynically.
