Grace Kerr
My work has been strongly influenced by my deep connection to the nature, my Buddhist practice, and nearly 30 years as a Technical Designer in the fashion industry. I grew up surrounded by rice farms and my toys were all provided by nature. I climbed trees, dug clay from rice paddies to make miniature sculptures and caught fish in the creek. My childhood has fostered and obsession with clay and with nature. When I touch clay, I immediately feel that connection to nature and it brings me joy, as if I were once again a child. My sculptures offer different perspectives with the same structure by walking around and viewing from different angles. The sculpture is meant to convey to people the message that things may change as we view them and may not be we first think or what we first see.
