Submission Deadline: May 31st @ 11:59 EST

This is a strange time. We are required to stay in our homes or keep a distance from people outside in order to stay safe. As a result, many artists may not have access to their normal workspaces, art supplies, focus, energy, inspiration. But artists can always draw from the world around them and from their imagination.

Since there cannot be traditional gallery exhibitions in NYC right now, this will be an Online Show to be exhibited on LiC-A’s website. This is a call for submissions of recent drawings by artists from throughout New York City.
Drawings should be completed during this period of confinement, and all approaches to drawing are welcome.

Your theme can be anything that speaks to you in this Time of Social Distancing: views out your window, an interior still life, portraits of family and friends, a thank you to essential workers, drawings of plants/flowers, outdoor sketches, moody drawings, happy drawings, dreamscapes, whatever inspires you!

There are three categories where LiC-A will award a special mention to selected artists who will receive a highlight in the online show.  These categories are:

  • Best traditional graphite/charcoal/ink drawing

  • Best interior or exterior view while in stay-at-home

  • Best non-traditional drawing (think out of the box!)

There is no submission fee for this Online Exhibition. However, this is a juried show, so submitting work does not guarantee selection for the show. Drawings will need to be scanned or photographed and submitted by this online form only. All submissions must be received by midnight on the date of the deadline.
