I see paintings as objects first and images second. The materiality and feel of a painting is what makes it live for me . The Texture of layered and worn paint speaks of time and its creative and destructive power.
Antiquity and archaic art,cracked walls, abraded surfaces and decayed wood are my stimulus and inspiration.
I have studied and worked in Nantucket,Provence and Venice places where time has made its mark - creating and destroying.
