Founded in 1985, LIC Artlofts is a major studio complex conveniently located within walking distance of the Museum of the Moving Image, restaurants and shops on Steinway, Broadway and Northern Blvd., and public transportation. It is housed on the third floor of a factory building and features:
- 6500 square feet of space divided into 10 working studios
- A long, bright, 6 foot wide gallery hallway used for exhibitions
- Common areas with a slop sink for washing brushes, a refrigerator, seating, and very large windows with a view of the Manhattan skyline
- Separate washroom with toilets
- 24 hour access, central heating, passenger and freight elevators.
Each studio offers:
- Complete privacy with a separate metal door
- Wooden floors and 11 foot ceilings
- Large windows measuring 18 feet across from column to column
- Northern, southern or northwest exposure.
