Anowar comes from a family of artists, scholars and supporters of the arts and other cultural events. Early on, his parents discovered that he had a gift for art and encouraged him to explore his talent. As a young man Anowar participated in art shows and competitions; he won many prizes and awards for his work. Very early life in Bangladesh, Anowar was strongly influenced by the vibrant Bengali creative community, which included the Nobel Prize winner poet & writer Rabindranath Tagore, Internationally award winner film maker Satyajit Ray and the musician Ravi Shankar. The young artist came to the U.S. in the 1980's and became involved with the flourishing New York art community through his art study and training at the School of Visual Arts and The Art Students League of New York. His works have been shown in many galleries and exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
