My mixed media architectural sculptures and large scale drawings examine the effects of media/technology and the diminishing distinction between our public and private realms. By peeking inside their tiny illuminated windows and doors, my interiors disclose dirty little secrets hidden within. As Reality TV and the internet present to the masses, what used to be private moments, my narratives explore society's voyeuristic obsession. Constructed from cardboard boxes and recycled materials these earth-friendly structures are built predominantly from newspapers containing the very stories and headlines addressed in my subject matter. The building of my sculpture stands and the additions of video/sound and found and natural forms reinforce my internal dialogue. Whether drawn from current events or personal reflections, my narratives question society's standards for living and the educational, political and religious institutions that power it. Like a child whose inquisitive nature constantly reaches for answers, my work also explores the whys?
