I make oil paintings. The images seem like figures in a landscape. They invoke light and gravity. These environmental conditions come as much from the physical properties of paint as much as color or line. The film of paint is a gesture in itself that engages the viewer like a dance partner.

My images are ostensibly invented; but the spaces are not so much constructed as re-calibrated so that they shape a kind of memory... or perhaps they are tuned like a piano so that they can strike a certain chord...
