Alexandra Martin has always been fascinated by the human body and how it functions. Her sculpture honors traditional concepts of beauty but also strives to honor the beauty of movement and human thought processes. Ms Martin believes it is essential for sculpture to present not only an idea but a underlying emotional narrative as well. As the emphasis of her work has shifted from the purely figurative toward the emotive, she is capturing the intimate interactions that occur between the work and the viewer.
